Starting at the north end of Ferry Lane by the church, eleven of us walked south through part of Medmenham village, then by a stream, across a field, to the road. A few yards on it, then a track down to the river. Lovely path from there to the climb up to the tunnel under the Danesfield Estate, eventually reaching the road again. Then, past Dansfield school and into the woods and up to Marlow Common where we had our banana break in Pullingshill Wood. We set off again down to Homefield Wood, past the nature reserve (kinown for it's rare military orchids) then up again to walk by the old cottages in Bockmer End. A few more downs and ups before noticing The Old School and The Old Laundry on our right, then made our way through the woods of the Medmenham Camp, an Iron Age Hill Fort, and back to the cars.

Seven of us - historically the magic number - walked on a dry day from Maidensgrove Common down through Freedom Wood to Bix Bottom and the remains of the medieval St James’s Church. Then we joined the Chiltern Way extension to climb up to Crocker End and Souness House and through the woods to Magpies and beyond to lovely open views across the hills and valley for our banana stop. Through a dairy herd to Park Corner and right before Chears Farm onto the Chiltern Way downhill with great views. Across to Westwood Farm and down to Five Ways to climb up steeply to return to Maidensgrove Common. A lovely countryside walk with hills and good views and good company - very enjoyable!

This walk took in two commons different in character to each other - Naphill Common is now wooded and Downley is what would traditionally be known as a common - an open area of grass although not used for grazing now, but cricket! Ten of us set off from the front of Bradenham Manor NT heading upwards to Bradenham Beeches, whilst taking in the view across the valley to Bledlow Ridge. A loop around the woods brought us to a good place to see Grims Ditch or Dyke which is believed to be an Iron Age boundary of ditch and bank. We then followed the fence around RAF Naphill to cross Bradenham Woods Lane heading to Naphill Common. Naphill Common over the last 100+ years has become increasingly covered with mature trees and juniper, gorse, heather and holly. We walked the width of the common on a wide pathway, passing Daisy Pond to reach Downley Common. Here we found numerous benches to rest a while. From here we continued to Cookshall Farm having a view across to West Wycombe church and mausoleum and after a few more undulations, descended back to Bradenham Manor car park.

Just 5 of us this morning. Understandable, as the forecast was rain, rain and more rain (Hurray!). However, the rain was very light and it was quite warm, though cloudy, so we certainly didn't get soaked. We left Lane End village car park to walk down beside the church graveyard, then over the road to head north, first past the front door of Wycombe Court house, then alleyways and narrow paths to a meadow then woods to the road bridge over the M40. Bank Holiday traffic thundered underneath as we crossed, then into quiet fields and onto the gate we donated earlier this year to John Esslemont. We took a wood track down to enter the West Wycombe Estate then a long haul up onto a field to stop for our banana break and enjoy the view of the Golden Ball. More woods and fields, past Bullocks Farm, tracking down then a short climb up again and onto Denham Farm, across Wheeler End Common, thro Wheeler End, over the M40 again and back to the car park. An enjoyable morning out in the countryside that is very slowly turning green again.

On a morning when rain was forecast, 18 of us set off from Bledlow Village expecting to get wet but fortunately it turned out to be another sunny but humid walk. We left the village, passing The Lions PH, on the Icknield Way to join the Ridgeway above the village. Much of the route was on the Ridgeway and first led us to ascend Lodge Hill, with views either side across to Loosley Row one way and Bledlow Ridge the other. We stopped for our break to admire the view - see photos. We then descended to cross a lane and to walk through the Princes Risborough Golf Club. The next crossing was the Chiltern Line between High Wycombe and Princes Risborough. We then left the Ridgeway to pass Saunderton Rectory on our way to Saunderton Church. It was then a shortish stretch on a lane to pick up the Chiltern Way back to Bledlow. An optional visit at the end of the walk was to the Lyde Gardens, next to Bledlow Church and part of the Carrington Estate. It is a sunken aquatic garden which was once watercress beds. Very tranquil and cooling on a hot day.

Lovely weather today - clear blue skies, a gentle breeze, and not too hot. Nine of us met near the ruins of the King's Hotel in Stokenchurch. We set off through the village to cross over the M40 on the footbridge. Then some ups and downs through woods and fields, entering the Wormsley Estate (owned by the Getty family). A gente flat walk, past the cricket grounds, etc. then a long traverse up a chalky path, where we had our banana break near the top. Over the Ibstone Road then, following the Chiltern Way, down and up again to Studdridge Farm. Before reaching the farm there was a long line of healthy blackberry bushes, so a short stop to indulge. After the farm, another group of delicious fruit beckoned so more picking ensued. This was a hilly walk, so after another down, up and down, we went through the tunnel under the M40 and back up to the cars. Most enjoyable.

18 of us set off for a walk through the woods to the east of Whiteleaf on a warm but occasionally overcast day. We went down into the valley then climbed Pulpit hill then down the other side for a view of Chequers in the distance then a stop at Buckmoorend farm shop for an ice cream or coffee. Back across a valley then a slow climb back through the woods to the start point. All in all a nice walk. Some people expressed an interest in the names of the woods so they were: (in order) the Hangings, Ninn, Pulpit, Pond, Hengrove, Sergeant's and the Hangings again.

Eleven of us started from Ibstone Common on a very warm and sunny day and joined the Chiltern Way to see some stunning countryside views across the Wormsley Estate. Then a steep uphill path to Northend and left at the cross paths in Fire Wood to go past Turville Park Farm with its new calves. A shady spot under a big oak tree for our banana spot then steeply up to St Saviours stopping on the way to admire the view over the Stonor Estate. Across Turville Heath to an old sunken track and across Holloway Lane to the path going back to Ibstone via Hellcorner Farm.
Lovely wild flowers, trees and glorious big views which together with good company made for a very enjoyable walk . Many thanks to all those who came on the walk. .
