On a dry often sunny and unseasonably warm November day, we were a baker’s dozen as we walked from Whiteleaf Hill car park north down the Ridgeway and turned half-right before Cadsden down through Giles Wood. Then we walked in a generally Easterly direction below Solinger House up to Dirtywood Farm where we stopped before the wood to admire the view back to Beacon Hill. Then up to the Icknield Way trail near Little Hampden on which we continued to meet the Ridgeway. Then on the Ridgeway walking through a flock of sheep whilst circumnavigating Chequers and enjoying its view and the Coombe Hill monument beyond. More Ridgeway walking though a herd of bullocks to find a path to Pulpit Hill carpark and then diagonally upwards through Ninn Wood and back to the start. The Autumn colours were amazing - we were enthralled by the leaves on the trees and on the floor - better than the photos! - and what a joy to be blessed with such good weather and good company.

On a bright dry, sunny day, 9 of us plus two dogs (Bramble and Fern) met at Cookham Moor NT car park. The walk, which was totally flat, took us initially towards Maidenhead. After passing through Widmoor Common and heading towards the river Thames, we were able to take the path through the Battlemead Common wetlands which normally closes 31st October each year. So we were lucky! Not that we saw much wildlife though. After a short stop, we headed for home, walking along the Thames towpath passing Cliveden on our way. A lovely walk was had by all.

10 of us set off from Cadmore End to indulge in cake! The forecast of clear skies turned out to be wrong and we were quite wet by the time we descended Hanger Wood. We climbed up behind the windmill above Turville, descending into the village, then on and up, looking back at a beautiful rainbow, then along and down into Skirmett. We went through fields to the road, followed by a short ascent on a minor road. Then along a narrow footpath and down to reach St. Bartholomew's church in Fingest. Tea/coffee and some delicious homemade cakes were available for a small donation. We joined two other groups there - Henley & Goring and Thame & Wheatley - for a sociable interlude. Another mile or so of walking took us back up to our start point.

On a dry mostly sunny morning, thirteen of us set off to walk from Bledlow village, over Lodge Hill, to Saunderton Church via Princes Risborough Golf Club. The views from Lodge Hill were appreciated when we paused for a break. Here there were harebells still blooming. Lacey Green windmill was spotted on the opposite ridge. It has recently been repaired. We walked about half of the route on the Ridgeway. On our return to Bledlow a few of us visited the Lyde Garden opposite Bledlow Manor. The gardens were former watercress beds.

12 of us enjoyed a very interesting 3 hour walk in the Chilterns from Christmas Common down into Blackmoor Wood seeing some interesting fungi then up steeply to Northend and past the boundary marker from Oxfordshire into Buckinghamshire. Next we walked past Launders Farm and down to the woods and left to Turville Park Farm and up steeply to enjoy a view of Stonor Park with a solitary deer racing across the field. After a short break we went down towards Pishill and right to College Wood and a long steep ascent up to Hollandridge Lane. Then on the Chiltern Way to the woods and left through Queens Wood as leaves were falling and then back to the start. We saw at least 10 different types of fungi and the leaves changing. A very enjoyable walk and with lots of good conversations.

14 of us met in Medmenham, street parking near the church. We set off through the village, then fields and down to the river Thames. Along the river bank then round a field, a track and over the Marlow/Henley road. On through meadows to the village of Hambleden where we had our banana break on the benches at the playing fields. Young footballers enjoying a match provided a lively scene. The second half of the walk involved traversing slowly up through woods to the top of the hill. More fields and good views of the valley to the right and Burrow Farm to the left. Over the single-step stile, then a descent through woods to the main road again. Across, then fields to arrive back at our cars. A pleasant walk with good dry weather.

10 of us set off from Southend in light drizzle with a few having had a difficult journey meeting tractors, and/or trucks along the narrow lanes. On reaching Stonor Park, the weather cleared and the sun came out. We then made our way along the valley before turning right to climb the steep hill to eventually arrive at Turville Heath where we stopped at 'The Ploughman's PitStop' for tea/coffee and refreshments. The weather turned out to be perfect, warm with a slight breeze. On leaving The PitStop, we took the longer return journey past Turville Grange, down the hill towards Turville and then up to South End.

12 of us left Marlow Bottom playing fields car park and headed towards Marlow, through woods, fields then across the park. Crossing the Marlow/Lane End road we went along Mundaydean Lane, past some interesting topiary! Then we traversed up to the Royal Oak pub and Bovingdon Green. We followed the Chiltern Way through the woods, stopping to view Monks Corner and Jerome Cottage (lived in by Jerome K Jerome, author of "3 men in a boat"). Monks Corner was built for Conrad Dressler, sculptor and producer of Medmenham Ware. The buildings have frieze panels and roundels of painted terracotta. Onto Marlow Common North nature reserve for our banana break, through the reserve, then back along the Frieth road and down into Mondaydean Lane again. A long walk up a field to Copy Farm, with great views, then down and up again. Now on the flat, we walked past High Rews Farm to Seymour Court, across the road and down into the woods behind the school back to our cars. A varied walk in good weather, enjoyed by everyone.
