On a warm but cloudy morning, 9 ramblers and two dogs met at Ibstone Common for a hilly Chiltern walk. After passing Ibstone church, we headed down the valley to Turville and then climbed the steep hill to Turville Heath and the Barn. While resting at the top of the hill, 6 riders appeared who asked us to open the gate so they could be on their way. On reaching the Barn, we had a short break for coffee/drinks/ice creams. The horses and their riders were also there. The horses were unsaddled and munching grass. From the Barn, we had another down and up to reach Ibstone Common.

A small group of 10 of us started from the revised starting point of Cookham Moor car park. It was a warm morning but with a gentle breeze at times. We had an easy climb from Cookham Moor towards Winter Hill. We crossed the golf course and saw many golfers also enjoying the warm weather. The walk continued along Winter hill with the glorious views over the Thames Valley towards Flackwell Heath and Marlow. We made a gradual decent down Winter Hill to the River Thames and had our break under the shade of a tree on the riverbank. We continued along the river past The Bounty and then over the bridge to Bourne End. We continued along the river towards Spade Oak, then turned around and walked back to the railway bridge. (This was due to the revised starting point.) The walk along the river to Cookham was beautiful with many walkers out doing a similar walk to the one we were doing. We were fortunate enough to see the swan with six cygnets, now quite large. The weather towards the end of the walk was getting warmer so we were pleased to get to the carpark. It was a gentle but beautiful walk, just right for the warm weather.

On a lovely warm morning, with a gentle breeze, 12 of us left Lane End village car park for a 6 mile circular walk. We went first through Moor Common then Moorend Common (with orchids - "Marsh" and "Common"). Woods and fields then through the churchyard of St John The Evangelist church in Frieth. Further on we traversed down a field, which, a few years ago, had acres and acres of poppies and cornflowers - today only a few white daisies. We walked through Hill's Wood and Hatchett Wood then stopped for our banana break. On downhill,then through fields skrting Skirmett then the climb up through Adam's Wood. A long flat strectch through Mousel's Wood, down then up through fields into Fining Wood (a reather strange scarecrow lives there!). Entering Lane End we passed a house that used to be The Jolly Blacksmith pub (sign still there) and back to the cars. Enjoyed by all.

A pleasant walk in mild weather and no rain, though ground damp from the downpours of yesterday. 11 of us left Wooburn car park near Wash Hill and headed up to Ronald Wood, enjoying the view at the top. Through fields then down to the disused railway track, crossing the road to pass Bourne End railway station and auction house. Over the bridge and then a meander along the Thames to Cookham. Here we stopped at the benches near the bridge for our banana break. Carrying on, we crossed the Cookham bridge, then a path across a field (part of Beeches Way), then the uphill path past Hedsor Priory (Shakespreare's Way). A bit of road walking then we entered Farm Wood and walked down to the car Park (on the Chiltern Way). Lots of stiles and lots of "Ways" on this ramble!

10 of us enjoyed a walk from Cadmore End down and up towards Ibstone House, seeing deer and wild flower meadows and sheep and lambs on the way. Then past Ibstone Church with its 1000 year old yew tree and steeply down and up to Turville Grange and along to Turville Court then a break with a wonderful view. Down to Turville village and along to Fingest and its church with its double gabled roof and then taking the circular uphill path back to the start. The weather was kind to us and the rain forecast stayed away and was actually quite warm as you will see from the group photo. Some tough hills but worth it for the great views and good company - enjoyed by all

11 people and two dogs set off from Hurley on a glorious May day under a perfect blue sky, a light breeze and warm sunshine. Along the way we saw bluebells (nearly finished), and passed a few Duke of Edinburgh groups who were taking part in a training day. The walk finished by walking along the river section towards Hurley where we came across two geese with 9 goslings.

Our route started at the NT car park at Cookham Moor, through Cookham to Cliveden Reach, along the river to Boulters Lock and Ray Mill Island, where we enjoyed ice-creams from the cafe, and were captivated by a family of goslings.
Along the way we had views of the Cliveden estate, one time home to Waldorf and Nancy Astor, and now better known for its more infamous connection with the Profumo affair. We then walked past Battlemead, previously part of White Place Farm, but now a designated Wildlife and Wetlands Reserve. Further along we viewed the former home of Richard Dimbleby CBE across the water on Boulters Island, bearing a historic blue plaque, and also passed several elegant riverside properties.
Leaving the island we headed into the residential Maidenhead North Town, onto Greenway West, which forms a waterside corridor from Cookham through the centre of Maidenhead to Bray. Our walk took us alongside farmland, with a view of Cliveden House perched high above the River Thames, past Strand Water, riding stables and back to Cookham Rise and the carpark.
We were a small but select group, along with Taz, a well behaved dog. It was a lovely walk on a dry but slightly chilly day!

Five of us enjoyed a lovely sunny morning walk up and down hills - 835ft of ascent - down to Five Ways, then Russells Water, Pishill Bottom, the Chiltern Way to College Wood and Pishill Church. CW again and across Maidensgrove Common with glorious views of the countryside and swathes of bluebells in full bloom - and good company - very enjoyable.
