Members’ Walking Holidays
If you wish to submit holiday information, this is how to do it:
Send your article and photos in emails to
Please adhere to the following guidelines -
The title of all your emails should be: your name - place visited - month and year.
Your article can be a .doc, .pdf, .odt, or plain text - in an email, without photos. If not a .pdf, it will be converted to one for use on the website.
Your photos. You can send as many as you like but note that our Webmaster will produce collages*. It is suggested that you could send separate emails with photos for each day, saying which day it is, if you have lots. If just a few, they may be grouped into types i.e. portraits, views, etc.
Recent Walks blogs
If you wish to submit a blog of a walk that you have led, please do the following:
Use the email address -
Email Title: Name of your walk as shown on the program
Email text:
Date (Day and date). Distance in miles. Leader's name.
Then your blog, being a description of the walk, as many words as you like.
Photos: Attach to email, or send separately, with same Title.
Send as many as you like, but more than one please*, and a collage will be made.
Note: a blog with no photos is also acceptable.
*Why do I create collages and why do I want more than one image?
It's to do with the size of the files. A photo from a smart phone will be about 4MB of data. The organisation that supports our website has a limit of 1MB (or so) for each image. The collages that are created are about 1MB in size. If someone only sends in one photo, I can't use the collage software. I have to use a different piece of software which is a bit time-consuming and it also creates images of different sizes to the collage images. So, please, send more than one photo (and different ones obviously).
